چکیده
We present an explantation image of an off-label transcatheter placed valve-in-valve Edwards Sapien in a Carpentier-Edwards Perimount Magna Ease aortic bioprosthesis (Edwards Lifesciences, Inc., Irvine, CA, USA) in the tricuspid position (Fig. 1). The valve was placed 1 year and 9 months before in an extremely frail patient with a complex cardiac surgical history due to an atrial septum defect type primum (Preoperative echocardiography can be seen in Video 1).

Right sided heart evaluation after successful mitral valve replacement.
Introduction: It is well-documented that right-sided heart dysfunction and significant tricuspid valve regurgitation (TVR) have adverse effects on patient outcomes after left-sided heart valve surgery. Therefore, the evaluation of right ventriclular (RV) function and TR severity in patients who had undergone mitral valve replacement (MVR), associated with/without concomitant su...
متن کاملHealth-Related Quality of Life after Valve Replacement Surgery
Background: Heart valve disease gradually increases the pressure in the heart chambers and impairs heart pumping. It influences on quality of life due to low output, disability, fear, amnesia, anxiety, and depression. Although most of signs and symptoms in patients with heart valve diseases may significantly decrease after valve replacement surgery, there is limited information about the impact...
متن کاملTricuspid Valve Endocarditis in an Intravenous Drug Abuser: A Case Report
Recently, there have been more reports of cardiac valve infections due to the increasing number of intravenous (IV) drug abusers and chronic renal failure patients. Among cardiac valves, tricuspid valve is most commonly affected in the course of endocarditis. Appropriate management of these patients is a challenging and controversial issue in the field of cardiac surgery. Treatment options in s...

one patient with tricuspid incompetence due to a ruptured papillary muscle after myocardial infarction. The higher incidence of left ventricular papillary muscle dysfunction reported (Heikkila, 1967) must be largely due to the higher incidence of left ventricular infarction observed by various workers (Wartman & Hellerstein, 1948; Zaus & Kearns, 1952). This patient had minimal dilatation of the...

A patient with acute severe mitral regurgitation resulting from papillary muscle dysfunction which developed on the third day of acute myocardial infarction underwent early successful mitral valve prosthetic replacement with concomitant aortocoronary saphenous vein bypass. The concept of acute severe mitral regurgitation due to an infarcted papillary muscle which has not actually ruptured and a...
